Francois completed his undergraduate medical training in his home province at the University of the Free State. He developed an interest in ophthalmology while doing his community service at George Hospital in 2005 and started his ophthalmology journey there as a medical officer the following year. He underwent specialist training in ophthalmology at Groote Schuur Hospital & the University of Cape Town. Francois joined the practice in February 2012 and is an excellent general ophthalmologist with special interests in laser refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma.
